Barracks 1989–1990
The barracks only operated for three months, from December 1986 to February 1987, and three shows were held.
Another attempt to establish a form of art that I call expressionism, neo-primitivism, new art. The damp walls, old barracks, warehouse district and ruins are not only a choice but also a necessity. The barracks operated for only three months, despite the winter and frost: December 1986 to February 1987. Three exhibitions were held, and the way they were received testified to the enormous need for such art in the (conscious or unconscious) existence of official ‘art offices’. Wild art entrenches itself in ruins, while official art strokes its fat ass in salons.
